Frequently Asked Questions
How much does this cost?
Pork Roll Palooza is a FREE event! Admission to the street festival is open to all. Food and beverages have various costs associated, so we encourage you to bring along cash and credit card for convenient purchasing. We also encourage the ‘shop local’ sentiment as many vendors will be available and selling great items.
Do your vendors take credit cards?
Good question. They may. Or they may not. I wouldn’t want to have empty pockets in the presence of a hot Pork Roll, Egg & Cheese sandwich, and a grumbly tummy, with a “Cash Only” sign hanging. It’s not a chance I personally would take so I advise you that way. Come prepared! There are ATM machines convenient to our location: Town Market at 135 South Main Street and Family Financial Centers at 437 South Main Street.
Where do I park?
A public parking lot is available across the street from Joe’s Steak Shop, and on-street parking can be found on the surrounding roads around Shappell Park. Note that there is NO PARKING along the Shappell Park curbs, and that Sitgreaves and Jersey Street will be closed to traffic.
Additionally, there are multiple private and public lots within walking distance of Shappell Park. Parking will also be available at Riverside Way next to the "free bridge" between Phillipsburg and Easton. There is on-street metered parking within walking distance. View the map with locations by clicking the link above, or using your navigation system on a smart phone.
Is the park handicap accessible?
Yes. With proper handicap documentation, access to a limited number of handicap parking will be permitted at the event entrance. Fire Police will be at the entrance of the event to escort your car. These spots are first come, first serve.
Will Emergency Responders be on-site?
In the event of an emergency and for overall public safety, Fire, Police, and EMS will be on-site throughout the event.

Do you know how it feels to be “hangry”?
Yes! We understand the bad-tempered feeling as a result of being hungry, and this event has the remedy! You will find food trucks and food vendors at Pork Roll Palooza ready to please your tastebuds. Be sure to have cash on hand as we do not know which vendors can accept credit cards or not. Come ready to eat but before the “hangries” set in. Bring your big smile, and enjoy.
What exactly is Pork Roll?
Pork Roll is an amazing, somewhat magical, delicious pink meat product processed and formed into a cylindrical log shape before being smoked. Ingredients are part of brand trade secrets, but made up of: pork, salt, sugar, and spices. It’s very strongly a “New Jersey thing”, where it’s produced and often served as breakfast meat. Depending on where you are located, pork roll may be referred to by the name, Taylor ham. It’s best paired with fried eggs, melty cheese, a hard roll and FRIENDS at Pork Roll Palooza!
Isn’t it called Taylor Ham?
The only way to truly know, is to attend the event and ask around.
I like beer with this breakfast food. Is that weird?
Not at all. We understand and we are here to please. Let all those Mimosa sipping eggs-benedict eaters have their foo-foo banquets and bridal showers while you fill up at the ‘Beer Booth’ for some great local brews provided by Invertase. We think Pork Roll and Brews pair well! Have fun, our thirsty friend, just don’t leave the street festival area marked off by the closed streets with your drink.
